Steven Mahoney

Mr. Mahoney joined National Health Investors in April 2026, bringing 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, technology operations, enterprise risk management, privacy, audit, and regulatory compliance across highly regulated healthcare and public-company environments. He serves as Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President of Technology & Enterprise Risk, where he leads cybersecurity, technology operations, enterprise risk management, AI strategy, incident response readiness, third-party risk management, and regulatory risk oversight.

 

Prior to joining NHI, Mr. Mahoney served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Traditions Health, where he led enterprise cybersecurity strategy, privacy, risk governance, incident response, and executive-level security reporting. He also founded and led IronHaven Consulting LLC, advising leadership on cybersecurity, AI governance, regulatory exposure, and enterprise risk. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mahoney held senior security and compliance leadership roles at Tend and Surgery Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: SGRY).

 

Mr. Mahoney earned a Master of Health Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport, a bachelor’s degree and a post-baccalaureate certificate in accounting from the University of Southern Indiana, and completed executive education in crisis management through Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He also holds several professional certifications, including CISM, CRISC, CISA, and CFE.
